The Comprehensive Inspection Vehicle on Shuohuang Railway Reduced the Equipment Defects by 70% in the Last Ten Years

On January 8th, the second-largest channel for transporting western coal to the east in China, the Shuohuang Railway operated its heavy-duty comprehensive inspection vehicle for the tenth anniversary, covering a cumulative distance of 267,639 kilometers. The equipment defects identified during the annual inspection of the railway have decreased by 70.43%, ensuring the safety and smooth operation of the energy transportation channel through precise, efficient, and effective technological means.

Over the past ten years of operation, the comprehensive inspection vehicle has achieved "zero injuries" to personnel safety, "zero delays" in inspection tasks, "zero breakdowns" of inspection equipment, and "zero missed defects" in equipment. The annual inspection distance has steadily increased, reaching 41,426 kilometers, a year-on-year growth of 168.86%. The vehicle has played a crucial role in comprehensive equipment testing and providing scientific guidance for maintenance. The company has improved various professional testing equipment through digestion, absorption, enhancement, and innovation, replacing manual surveys with rapid testing methods. This change has saved approximately 30.8 million yuan annually in costs related to track bed dirt inspection and rail flaw detection.

Adhering to the principle of "precise testing analysis, data-driven decision-making," the company has accurately guided the maintenance of 102,948 locations. As a result, the quality status of tracks has improved by 16%, the quality status of contact networks has improved by 17%, the good rate of track circuits has increased by 51.62%, the improvement rate of large-scale tamping has increased by 7%, the quality of ballast screening has improved by 15.31%. The quality status of tracks, contact network equipment, and the good rate of track circuits have been rising year by year. The maintenance mode has shifted from "periodic repairs" to "precise repairs" and "status-based repairs."
